The Ark (Studio 2)
The Ark (Studio 2) affords the opportunity to record up to approximately 30 players at a time. Its 1,400 square feet of space is extraordinarily versatile thanks to dual-sided wood/fabric wall panels that can be either reflective or absorbent depending on how they are positioned. The studio features a large-scale analog recording console—the Neve 88RS—with 48 channels and automation, as well as a Bosendorfer seven-foot grand piano.
The Ark (Studio 2) is one of several studios in the Berklee building at 160 Massachusetts Avenue designed by the Walters-Storyk Design Group, renowned for its work throughout the world on spaces such as Jimi Hendrix’s Electric Lady Studios, Alicia Keys’s Oven Studios, Bruce Springsteen’s Thrill Hill Studios, Jay-Z’s Roc the Mic Studios, and the studios for Jazz at Lincoln Center.
