Berklee’s dubbing stage is possibly the only room of its kind in higher education today: a Dolby-certified post-production facility supporting dubbing activities such as mixing music, sound effects, and dialogue to picture. The facility's 1,090 square feet includes two isolation booths for recording Foley and ADR (sound effects and dialogue). It is wired for 7.1 theater-style surround sound, as well as Dolby Atmos, the next-generation sound platform for cinema that delivers a lifelike audio experience beyond anything available to date. The dubbing stage is anchored by an Avid System 5 large-scale digital recording console.
The dubbing stage is one of several music production and recording facilities at 160 Massachusetts Avenue designed for Berklee by the Walters-Storyk Design Group, renowned for its work throughout the world on spaces for enterprises such as HBO Productions, IMAX, MTV Latin America, SONY Corporation, and Viacom New Media.
