This two-week summer intensive is an interdisciplinary program designed to challenge Berklee writers and producers to create material targeted specifically to artists, advertising agencies, and music libraries.
Hosted at the legendary Power Station at BerkleeNYC, students will participate in daily writing and production sessions based on real and relevant industry briefs, “who’s looking” lists, and actual artist needs under the guidance of select faculty, professional music supervisors, writers, and producers. Through clinics and listening and feedback sessions, students will have the opportunity to sharpen the tools they will need in their day-to-day careers as songwriters, producers, and artists post-Berklee. In addition, they will meet and form meaningful connections to industry professionals as well as recent alumni.

Who Should Apply
We are looking for ambitious, current Berklee student songwriters and producers who are ready to jump into a real-world music industry experience for two weeks in New York City this summer. Apply your Berklee training and skills by creating songs for artists, ad agencies, music libraries, TV, and film; experience what it's like to write for the market; and receive individual coaching and mentoring from industry leaders, including Berklee alumnus songwriter, arranger, conductor, and musician Will Wells and Bonnie Hayes, chair of Berklee's Songwriting Department.
Applicants don't have to be songwriting or contemporary writing and production majors, but they should be prepared to write and produce songs daily during the program, responding to briefs and assignments. The total enrollment is to not exceed 10 students.
What You Need to Apply
Applicants will need to provide the following information, in addition to completing the online application form:
- A short video that answers the following questions:
