Silicon Valley Student Trip

Students visit and tour Apple Music with Berklee alumni

The Berklee Institute for Creative Entrepreneurship (BerkleeICE) anually hosts a trip to Silicon Valley. This trip takes up to 20 students from Berklee Online; Berklee's campus in Valencia, Spain; Boston Conservatory at Berklee; and Berklee College of Music to the hub of startup culture, technological development, and venture capital. Students spend five days visiting top tech companies such as Facebook, Spotify, and Twitter; touring incubators and innovation labs such as Stanford and the Y Combinator; meeting venture capitalists and entrepreneurs on Sand Hill Road.

Daily activities and speakers illustrate the parallels between the startup mentality and the creative process, and explore transferable creative skills such as inspiration, improvisation, listening, and collaboration. The trip strengthens the bridge between Berklee and Silicon Valley, and expands students’ visions of what types of careers are possible with a Berklee degree. See photos and student reactions from a previous trip here.

Students leave the trip with increased exposure to the types of professional opportunities within the tech sector and concrete ways that creatives can market their highly valuable skills outside of the creative industries. We are working to bring Silicon Valley content to the Berklee campus virtually, including many of our Berklee alumni innovators from Bay area companies like PlayStation, Skywalker, Apple, Apollo Fusion, Facebook, and many more. Stay tuned for updates!
