Visiting Artists
The Visiting Artist Program provides Berklee students with access to professional musicians to learn from their experience, insight, and artistry. Each year, an influential Latin artist is invited to spend a week at the college, rehearsing students and conducting class visits and clinics. The visit culminates with a Berklee Performance Center show featuring the artist backed by a 30-piece faculty and student band that draws players from all the countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. Recent guests include a number of Oscar and/or Grammy winners, among them Israel Lopez “Cachao” (Cuba), Rosa Passos (Brazil), Eva Ayllón (Peru), Issac Delgado (Cuba), Larry Harlow (U.S.), Jorge Drexler (Uruguay), Ivan Lins (Brazil), Juan Luis Guerra (Dominican Republic), Rubén Blades (Panama), Paquito D’ Rivera (Cuba), Claudio Roditi (Brazil), Filó Machado (Brazil), and Michel Camilo (Dominican Republic).
