Music and Community Health: A Special Convening

This initiative aimed to gather foundational information on music and health-centered programs that incorporate active music experiences to impact overall quality of life in our communities, including identifying programs and the health-related outcomes being addressed within these programs, as well as identifying the resources to ensure sustainability outside of structured individual and group experiences, and whether this would be done through the process of trained community musicians, music therapists, and advocates or through technological advances.

- Effectiveness on an individual’s overall health and wellbeing
- Sustainability: ability to sustain benefits outside of structured experiences for longterm personal and community growth through the use of trained community musicians and/or advances in technology
- Replication: ability to foster continued problem solving, shared resources, and cross-disciplinary alliances with community partners
