Lydia Renold

Lydia Renold, a singer, composer, director, and producer, was born and raised in Switzerland in a family of musicians and producers. She became deeply immersed in music and the music industry at an early age, thanks to growing up around her parents’ music festival, Jazzaar, which allowed her to develop deeper insights into many aspects of the business while providing exposure to different cultures and styles. She has been a regular participant at the festival since 2005 in both artistic and organizational capacities, including performance, composition, conducting, administration, and logistics. Renold has had the honor of performing with many great musicians, such as Gil Goldstein, Randy Brecker, Donny McCaslin, Jamshied Sharifi, and Edsel Gomez, among many others.

In the spring of 2014, Renold enrolled at Berklee College of Music, where she majored in Contemporary Writing and Production. At Berklee, she took the opportunity to join various ensembles that explore different musical cultures, including the Overjoyed Gospel Ensemble, Irish Music Ensemble, Pletenitsa Balkan Choir, and Berklee Indian Ensemble. Performing with the Berklee Indian Ensemble allowed her to delve deeper into her Indian heritage, which is one part of her ancestry. After graduating, she continued working with the ensemble and went on to be hired as an assistant with the Berklee India Exchange in 2018. Outside of her work at Berklee, Renold works as a freelance producer and has her own freelance graphic design and branding business, Eulenblick, focused on helping artists find their unique visual aesthetic.
