In Their Own Words

"I want students to come away from my classes still thinking about what they've learned, how they've learned it, and the new questions that come up as a result. I seek to foster good working relationships; so above all, I want students to look forward to our next class together."

"In the 30 years I've been an English language teacher, I've continued to combine and expand my training in applied linguistics, rhetoric, composition studies, and literature. Professional development activities, from conferences to informal conversations with colleagues, keep me engaged and willing to take risks as a classroom teacher."
