"I encourage my students to embrace the concept that the voice is a musical instrument unlike any other. The voice is part of the body, and I implement my lessons through a holistic lens informed by my years of playing college football, yoga, and stage performance. My students acquire a deep and thorough understanding of the technical aspects of the voice and how to apply those techniques in performance. I want my students to be able to have a successful, sustainable career in performance."
"I have been singing, dancing, and acting since 2006. In that time, I've managed international gospel choirs, performed in musicals throughout the United States and abroad, managed performers on cruise ships, choreographed, and produced various shows in and out of the U.S. I have taught all grade levels in my years as a teacher and vocal/theater clinician. I have a love for the art of teaching and am motivated by the many styles of learning I encounter in any classroom or stage. I believe in differentiated learning and structure my lessons to meet the needs of individual students and their specific goals. Due to an active performing lifestyle, I am able to show my students examples of technique in action. The vocal exercises and strategies I discuss in the classroom are tools I use every week in performance. The stages on which I perform offer a diverse performing experience along with their challenges, and I prepare my students to tackle these challenges however they're presented."
"I am an avid yogi and give clinics on vocal technique from a unique whole body perspective. Yoga has helped me truly understand breath work and muscle tension as it relates to singing and performance. I offer this perspective to my students and am always encouraged when the body, breath, and voice work together to produce a unified, clear, tension-free instrument: the True Voice!"
