Visiting Artist Series: Ingrid Andress (Virtual Event)
Please see the events listing for upcoming events.
The Berklee Visiting Artist Series is a live, interactive forum featuring some of today's most innovative professional performers and creators. These moderated discussions will focus on the topics of artistry, entrepreneurship, and social justice, and students will have the opportunity to actively participate by posing questions directly to guests. This event features a live interview with alumna Ingrid Andress ’13, moderated by Pat Pattison, professor in the Songwriting and Liberal Arts and Sciences departments.
“A signpost for modern female complexity” (Billboard), Warner Music Nashville/Atlantic Records recording artist Ingrid Andress is nominated for three Grammy Awards and is the only country artist nominated in one of the "big four” categories, as a Best New Artist nominee. Tied with Miranda Lambert as this year’s most-nominated country artist, she cowrote and coproduced every song on her debut album, Lady Like, which earned a nod in the Best Country Album category. The critically lauded project features her platinum-selling no. 1 debut single, “More Hearts Than Mine,” which is also nominated for Best Country Song, and her current single, “Lady Like." In addition, she received nominations at the 2020 Country Music Awards (CMA), Academy of Country Music Awards (ACM), and CMT Music Awards, and took home Song of the Year honors at the MusicRow Awards and Nashville Songwriter Awards. She has received widespread acclaim from outlets such as the New York Times, NPR, HuffPost, Entertainment Weekly, ELLE, Teen Vogue, WWD, Paper Magazine, and Wonderland, to name a few. She has also appeared on Ellen, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, The Late Late Show with James Corden, TODAY, Late Night with Seth Meyers, the 54th annual CMA Awards, and the 2020 CMT Music Awards. The accomplished singer-songwriter has penned songs for artists including Bebe Rexha, Charli XCX, Fletcher, and Dove Cameron. After touring with Keith Urban on select dates, Andress’s 2020 tour also included shows with Dan + Shay, Tim McGraw, and Thomas Rhett.
