Creating your own work can be daunting. From idea creation to performance, the process is dynamic for everyone. Join us for a panel with some of your fellow alumni to discuss their experiences, tips for creating your own work, and how to get it out to a mass audience.
Meet the Panelists
Alexis Scheer
Alexis Scheer (B.F.A. '14, musical theater) is a writer, actor, and producer, and has been named a Rising Theatre Star by the Improper Bostonian in the Boston’s Best issue and described by Remezcla as "one of the most exciting Latinx playwrights working right now." Her plays and awards include Our Dear Dead Drug Lord (WP Theater/Second Stage, New York Times Critic’s Pick, Kilroy’s List, LTC Carnaval of New Latinx Work finalist, Relentless Award semifinalist, Bay Area Playwrights Festival finalist), Laughs in Spanish (Kennedy Center’s Harold & Mimi Steinberg National Student Playwriting Award), Christina (Roe Green Award), and The Sensational (Actors’ Theatre of Louisville). She is currently working on commissions for Manhattan Theatre Club and Second Stage.
Austin Regan
Austin Regan (B.F.A. '07, musical theater) is a New York-based stage director. Regan has directed and developed new work at Ars Nova, the Hangar Theatre, Ensemble Studio Theatre, Serials @ the Flea, FringeNYC, the 92nd Street Y, Boston Conservatory, and the United Nations, among others. Regan's theatrical writing includes The Adventures of Pericles (with Christy Altomare) and Proxy (with Alexander Sage Oyen and Rachel Gabrielle Franco).
