Singers Showcase: A Night at the Opera—The Music of Queen
Please see the events listing for upcoming events.
In celebration of the enduring appeal of Queen, one of rock’s most influential bands, prepare for a glittering night of stomping, fearlessly eclectic rock anthems and harmony-steeped, melodramatic piano ballads.
Produced by Maureen McMullan, the concert will feature some of Berklee’s most outstanding lead vocalists and special guests interpreting the band’s rich catalog filled with musical virtuosity, operatic dynamics, and flamboyant theatricality. Stretching contemporary production methods, they will be accompanied by an equally impressive roster of instrumentalists, dancers, and visual artists drawn from our global and diverse artistic community.
Special guest Vox One is an award-winning a cappella jazz quintet that combines elements of blues, funk, gospel, and folk into its own brand of vocal music. Vox One has performed internationally and has opened for Ray Charles, Chicago, the Persuasions, the Woody Herman Orchestra, and the Count Basie Orchestra.
The repertoire will include “We Will Rock You,” “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Another One Bites the Dust,” “Killer Queen,” and “Somebody to Love.”
Note: The show will feature an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter. If you are interested in viewing the performance with clear sightlines of the interpreter, choose the ASL INTERPRETATION price code when purchasing tickets.
