Biography

Grammy-winning engineer Denise Barbarita is the owner and head engineer of MONOLisa Studios in New York City. She works on album projects and audio post-production for film and television.

As an engineer and producer, Barbarita has worked with artists from many genres from hip-hop, rock, and punk to theater, jazz, and classical. Post-production projects include independent features, movie musicals, and longform ad campaigns. Before opening MONOLisa, she released four albums of her own with her band, the Morning Papers, through her label and publishing company, MyShyTune Music. She toured in support of these albums throughout the U.S. and Europe.

Barbarita's music has been featured on many TV shows over the years, most notably The Young and the Restless, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, CSI: Miami, One Life to Live, and Frontline.
