Core music tutoring services at Berklee provide students with one-on-one and group assistance in order to help them reach their potential. These services are offered to all students currently enrolled in Berklee’s core music courses including Fundamentals of Ear Training, Music Fundamentals, Music Application and Theory, Harmony 2–4, Ear Training 1–4, Solfege 1–2, Arranging 1–2, Tonal Harmony and Composition 1–2, Art of Counterpoint, and Conducting 1. Students are able to sign up starting on the first day of classes each semester.
Our tutors are all Berklee undergraduate students in their upper semesters who have displayed great proficiency in our core music curriculum. They are also certified by the College Reading and Learning Association through trainings offered in our program.
One-on-One Tutoring
Need a little help getting through some tricky topics in harmony or a little more practice doing dictation? One-on-one tutoring appointments can be scheduled between 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. from Monday through Thursday and between 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Friday, based on the availability of tutors. Students can either sign up for one 50-minute weekly tutoring session or up to three 30-minute, one-time drop-in sessions a week. These sessions are typically conducted in a combination of well-equipped private study rooms at the Berklee Library and piano/keyboard practice rooms in the 150 Massachusetts Avenue building.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our tutoring appointments are all virtual with flexible timing since we are serving students all over the globe in different time zones.

Group Events
Leadsheet/Chart-Making Workshops
We offer weekly/monthly workshops in leadsheet and chart making, based on demand, to help students learn how to communicate their musical ideas in the clearest, most concise, and professional ways. These sessions are open to all and do not require signing up. These sessions are currently virtual due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
We are working on a variety of other programming to engage students on how to apply core music concepts in real-world music, so follow us on social media to find out when and what these events will be this coming semester.
