Berklee Popular Music Institute

Immersive education pairing students with artists at the intersection of the music industry and the festival stage.

The Berklee Popular Music Institute (BPMI) is an experiential education program that takes you from the classroom to the festival stage. BPMI students interface with all facets of the music industry, including working in A&R, artist development, recording, booking, promotion, social media, sponsorship, and live shows.

BPMI Goals

  • Send students to attend and work with festivals such as Lollapalooza, Osheaga, Governors Ball, Essence, and more.
  • Pair music business students with artists as they put into practice what they’ve learned at Berklee, from contracts and branding to the craft of performance and recording.
  • Position music business students to work alongside today's top music industry professionals and step off the festival stage knowing they have what it takes to pursue a career in music.
  • Provide students with networking opportunities at some of the industry's most notable events such as Pollstar Live! and Billboard Live Music Summit and Awards.
