Vasilis Kostas Quartet on Tour in Greece this Month
With the collaboration of the Mediterranean Music Institute, composer, laouto, and guitar player Vasilis (Vasileios) Kostas will tour Greece this month with his quartet, which includes student Layth Sidiq on violin, Giannis Papatriantafyllou on upright bass, and Nikos Magnisalis on percussion. The group will perform five concerts in four cities. Christiane Karam, an associate professor of voice at Berklee, will join them on the tour.
The Vasilis Kostas Quartet will perform at the Cultural Center of Ioannina on June 17, at the Concert Hall of Philippos Nakas Concervatory in Athens on June 18, at the Vafolouleio Cultural Center of Thessaloniki on June 22, and at the ABATO Music Scene in Thessaloniki on June 24. Karam will join them on June 24 and will finish the tour with them on June 27 at the Theatre of Monodendri in Zagori.
