In this video rewind from 2017, join Suzanna Sifter, a pianist and veteran professor in the Piano Department at Berkee, for an energetic performance of contemporary acoustic jazz.

She features compositions from her book, Berklee Jazz Keyboard Harmony: Using Upper Structure Triads, as well as intricate arrangements from her latest CD, The Illumination. Sifter is accompanied by a stellar band that includes Dino Govoni on soprano and tenor sax, Bruce Gertz on acoustic bass, and Casey Scheuerell on drums and cymbals. The band premieres a tune written by Gertz in memory of Sifter’s mother, Magdalene Liptay.
