Vocal Pedagogy 2
This is an advanced class designed to guide advanced upper-semester voice students interested in developing effective teaching skills as a private voice teacher. Students take an in-depth look at anatomy and physiology and current research on vocal function in all genres as well as examining acoustics and resonance. Voice analysis software will be used as singers learn not only to hear and feel their voices, but see and demonstrate measurable changes in sound. Principles of perceptual motor learning and motor control and their relationship to pedagogy will also be discussed. As part of the class, students will work individually with a private student under the direction of the course instructor.
