Private Instruction – Electronic Digital Instrument: All Levels

Course Number
PIEL-XXX
Description

Private instruction is part of the performance core for all Berklee students. Through private instruction, students develop proficiency on their principal instrument, synthesize and integrate knowledge of a range of styles into musical interpretation, and synthesize and integrate knowledge of instrumental technique into their daily practice routines. All Berklee students take private instruction levels one through four on their principal instruments.

The Electronic Production and Design Department offers private lesson instruction where students develop musical and technical mastery of their instrument, allowing them to perform in a variety of solo and ensemble settings as complete musicians. Students expand their performance capabilities by using new types of controllers that help to meet their musical needs. Studies develop melodic, harmonic, rhythmic, and textural performance skills as well as the arranging, mixing, re-mixing, and improvisation skills that make up a live electronic performance. Students are encouraged to become versatile and skilled players in a variety of genres, as well as developing their own unique style and perspective.

Please note the electronic digital instrument is not currently available to students who want to major in performance.
