Music as a Catalyst for Change
In 2016, BerkleeICE hosted a weeklong series of lectures, guest speakers, panels, workshops, and a Shark Tank-style competition to celebrate and inspire the spirit of positive social impact that is alive and thriving throughout Berklee.
Hosted by Carla Dirlikov and Tony Woodcock, artistic directors, the Music as a Catalyst for Change weeklong intensive showcased diverse examples of artists and activitists changing the world through their creativity. Students explored themes of cultural diplomacy, social entrepreneurship, and creative activism through inspiring guest speakers and panels, as well as one-on-one coaching by artists and musicians during workshops and mentor sessions.
Students attended events and proposed projects, culminating in the presentation of their project at a closing session in the style of TV's Shark Tank program.
