Please see the events listing for upcoming events.
The Ensemble Department and the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion are excited to host visiting artist Nora Rahimian for a robust discussion on authenticity, impact vs. performance, imposter syndrome, building better professional relationships, and more.
Nora Rahimian is a creative consultant and the founder of #CultureFix, a global network of artists, activists, and entrepreneurs who use their platforms for social impact. Rahimian’s career in the music industry started in Liberia, where, while leading a peace-building project, she met a popular rapper and began managing him, becoming the first music manager in that country.
Since then, Rahimian has worked with artists around the world, negotiating endorsement deals, securing placements in international press and television, and facilitating cross-border collaborations. At the core of her work is an emphasis on placing power back in the hands of those creating art and culture, and on using art and culture to create meaningful social change. Rahimian's work has been recognized around the world: She is a United Nations Alliance of Civilizations fellow, was named one of istandard's "Women Who Run the Music Industry," and was called a "trailblazer" by VoyageLA.
