Summer Concerts at the Institute of Contemporary Art

Born in 1994 in Havana, Sheila del Bosque is one of the most in-demand young flutists in Cuba. Her music features contemporary and traditional Afro-Cuban music with the influence of European and jazz ingredients.

Riddim Symphony is an authentic soca, calypso, and reggae band based in Boston, Massachusetts, and founded by Berklee College of Music students. Many group members are natives of or have family roots in the Caribbean islands.

Martin Tamisier is a singer-songwriter and drummer from France who is studying at Berklee College of Music. His music is influenced by pop, African music, and rock, with French lyrics shaped by his love for the meaning and power of words.

One Drop: A Bob Marley Tribute is a large band featuring local musicians and Berklee College of Music students and alumni. Founded and led by drummer Luke Appleton-Webster, its mission is to faithfully present the repertoire of Bob Marley and the Wailers.

Common Cents is a group of humble, extraordinary musicians. The band, led by William Nelson, brings to life music that Nelson first created in his bedroom.

AJNA combines the eclectic sounds of indie, electronic, and glitch music to create glimpses of physical reality through sound. Founded by vocalist and guitarist Felipe Maldonado, the group includes Zak Icaza (drums), Aaron Kennedy (backing vocals and OP1 sampler), Carlo De Biaggio (bass), Tommaso Taddonio (keyboards and synthesizer), and Sagiv Rosenstock (guitar).

Hailing from Madagascar, singer-songwriter Niu Raza has performed with record producer Don Jazzy and Grammy Award–winner Hugh Masekela. Dancer Avery Gerhardt will lead a choreographed performance with students from Boston Conservatory at Berklee. 

7th Degree is a nine-piece funk/fusion band formed because of similar musical interest and immediate chemistry.

Blazing across a wide variety of styles, Spencer Nicholson’s groovy and soulful expressions are a revolution of modern pop music. With influences from Allen Stone to Justin Timberlake and Michael Bublé, the Canadian singer-songwriter presents a classic yet innovative style with a smooth and contagious vibe.
