Adam Cruz is a New York City–born drummer, composer, and educator. He is best known for his work with Danilo Pérez, Steven Wilson, and David Sanchez. During the 1990s, he worked extensively with saxophonist Sanchez and the Mingus Big Band. In recent years, Cruz has worked with artists such as Tom Harrell, Pharoah Sanders, and many more. In 2010, he was awarded a grant from the Aaron Copland Fund for Music to record his debut album, Milestone.
The Gathering is an ongoing series presented by the Berklee Institute of Jazz and Gender Justice. These events, which are open to the greater Berklee community, feature performances, guest lectures, workshops, and discussions with gender equity as a guiding principle.
