Delhi: Tandon Global Clinic in India

In this two-day program, you will engage in clinics, interactive presentations, and jam sessions with Berklee faculty members. You will advance your skills in music and further your abilities as a musician through informative clinics on topics such as preparing for live performances and professional recordings. You will also learn time-tested strategies for achieving professional standards and effectively conveying emotion as a music producer.

This program is open to any musician who is at least 15 years old by the start of the program and who has been playing their instrument or singing for a minimum of six months. All applicants will need to submit supporting material demonstrating their musical experience and abilities (the preferred format is links to videos demonstrating your musical abilities.)

Performance Forum: Creative Approaches to Performance and Production in the Recording Studio

As part of this workshop, you will collaborate with classmates from a variety of diverse styles and backgrounds, including performers, producers, and educators, among others. You will also explore concepts of performance specific to the studio environment through faculty feedback and analysis.

This clinic begins by exploring the key concepts of listening, conveying emotion, artist identity, vision, and intention. It then introduces the "listen, respond, act" (LRA) technique, which you will put into action while producing a sound-alike project, an effective cornerstone of Berklee’s award-winning curriculum. The interactive session will involve remaking an important, pivotal, or “hit” song replicating the sounds, performances, feel, and especially the emotional impact of the original. In this clinic, you will:

1. Recognize the concepts of critical listening, conveying emotion, and artist identity, vision, and intention.

2. Assess an artist's strengths and weaknesses, and employ strategies to accentuate the positives and minimize the negatives.

3. Discuss editing, rewriting, and employing arranging techniques to enhance emotional impact.

4. Provide guidance on how to lead a creative team in the studio by engendering good session flow and pulling the best performances out of your players.

5. Understand the producer's and engineer's specific roles in the studio.

6. Know the basics of producing and recording and how to set up your studio.

7. Identify and use specific recording techniques.

8. Demonstrate strategies to clean up tracks while mixing and mastering.

After working in this clinic, you will receive a certificate of completion from Berklee.

Musicianship in the Studio

In this workshop, you will focus on your instrument, with real-time feedback and hands-on interaction with Berklee faculty to provide an overview on performance techniques in the studio.

Studio Performance Ensemble

This workshop enables you to enhance your ensemble-playing skills and to deepen your knowledge of studio performance. Working under the direction of a Berklee faculty member, you will complete exercises that enhance your intonation and articulation in an ensemble context. You will learn to maintain stylistic integrity by developing awareness of the melodic, harmonic, and rhythmic practices associated with studio performance.

10:15 a.m.-1:15 p.m.: Performance Forum - Creative Approaches to Performance and Production in the Recording Studio

2:30 p.m.-4:00 p.m.: Interactive Session: Demystifying the Berklee Audition Experience with Mock Audition and Q&A Session

4:00 p.m.: Closing Discussion with Faculty

As a student in this program, you are required to make your own housing arrangements.

Tuition is 5,000 rupees.
