Carol, a solo project from Berklee College of Music student Carolyn Flaherty, released her debut EP Softest Destroyer in March. The poet-turned-songwriter has generated significant interest by combining soft ambience with a complex vocal tone, fluttering harmonies, and searing lyricism. Her EP addresses themes of self-sacrifice, emotional restraint, and radical softness while allowing Carol’s floating vocals to drive a reflection on the self.

Carol has been practicing her craft as a poet and songwriter for many years, and is excited to bring that work into a public space. In addition to her own music, Carol performs with Tongue Splitter Overdrive in a role that flips the softness of her solo work for maximalist anger pushed to its limit.
