In Their Own Words

"The power of music is like no other. It's a universal language based off of emotion and set to chords and melody. Being a performer, songwriter, and teacher I find that being one with the emotion of a song is the most important thing to portray in one's music."

"To be a singer you need to be in tune with your body. I like to incorporate yogic breathing and healthy techniques into my vocal workout and everyday life. Performing and songwriting are comforts of mine. Because of that it gives me the opportunity to create music and endless possibilities with the music."

"I feel that whenever an artist is creating something new, it solely has to come from within. Sometimes ideas can come at the most random times. For me, it's mostly when I'm lying in bed at night or driving in the car. I'll either stay up in the dark singing through the melody line I have created until I get it right, or I'll find the sound recorder on my cell phone and recite the lyrics that pop in my head in between shifting gears in my car. Bizarre, yes, but when something inspires you, you have to grab hold of it, because you never know, it could be your next hit. I used to sit and write lyrics and then go to the piano and just play chords until I found something that I liked, but lately I have been starting at the piano and just seeing what lyrically comes out. You never know where a song is going to go, and that is the beauty of it."
